See you in the studio: NYCEDC on the prizes
Thanks for participating in New York’s Next Top Makers!
We look forward to seeing your new product designs and prototypes! There are so many creative, inventive makers in New York City, and we’re thrilled to get the chance to help you become the City’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
As a reminder, by participating in this challenge you’ll be competing for one of six finalist spots in a five-month Next Top Makers Studio Phase. The assistance in the Studio Phase will be tailored to the needs of the challenge winners and is focused on helping you overcome hurdles on the path to commercialization—whether you’re launching your business through crowdfunding, bootstrapping or traditional financing.
During the Studio Phase, you’ll get free studio space from NYDesigns, a built-in creative community, mentorship from top-notch industry leaders such as Adafruit Industries and Honeybee Robotics and a $4,000 budget for prototyping materials and access to technical equipment. We’ll do everything we can to put you in touch with the right thought leaders, machinists and business partners to turn your prototype into a successful, commercially available product. On top of all that, at the end of the five-month studio, one finalist will win an additional Grand Prize of $11,000.
So what do you think—do you have what it takes to become one of New York’s Next Top Makers? If so, I encourage you to start drafting your submission and working on your video today.
